NEW ADVENT CALENDAR CLASS

Boy, we're gonna have to get on it! I've got a week and a great project for everyone! A count-down advent calendar that is SURE to be a hit. It's a 16 x 20 canvas board with 24 boxes where you can put little goodies and notes as you count down the days to Christmas. Each day comes off the board and goes into a case for safe keeping until next year. That is, after you pull out your goodies! This project is easy and lots of fun, but I only have enough materials for 8 people! The cost for the class is going to be between $25 and $30. I'll finalize it over the weekend--I'm still making my sample!!! I'll get pictures up ASAP. I'm going to be holding the class Tuesday night 6p-8:30p, Thursday 1-3p at Hobby Lobby North and Thursday evening from 6p-8:30p. Tuesday night's class will be on the south side of town just off of National behind Carol Jones. Call me for directions. Thursday night's class will be at north side at my home studio. If none of those times work, and you really, really want to do this project, give me a call and I'll see what we can arrange! I've already got 3, possibly four seats full, so CALL ME! 350-4569!

HOBBY LOBBY CLASSES

If you are interested in taking a class at either the North side or South side Hobby Lobby here in Springfield, sign-ups need to be completed within the times frames listed below, and class fee paid in cash on the day of class (no checks, I don't have a check validation system). If you register and you are a no show for class, you will not be allowed to register for future classes without prepayment. Most classes range from $12 to $25 depending on complexity of the class, the size of the kit provided, etc. You will need to bring a basic crafting kit to class (see the side bar below for what should be included), and some classes may have additional supply items or tools for you to bring, listed by class as appropriate. All classes start promptly at the time given, so if you are late, you'll have to catch up! In order to hold a class, I need at least 4 people signed up in advance per the schedule below. We can seat 8 at North side and 10 at South side. You can obtain the official class schedule in each of the two stores (please note that the calendars for the two locations are separate). Class projects are on display at the South side Hobby Lobby.

NORTH SIDE HOBBY LOBBY
Tuesday evening sign-ups must be complete by the Friday previous
Thursday afternoon sign-ups must be complete by Monday previous

SOUTH SIDE HOBBY LOBBY
Friday afternoon sign-ups must be complete by Tuesday previous

These deadlines are necessary in order for me to have enough time to prepare kits for the classes. Sorry, no exceptions. If you don't have the supplies you need, please come in at least 30 minutes before the start of class and I will help you find what you need at the store so you can purchase those items before class starts. :-)

Basic Crafting Kit

Your kit should include wet adhesive (such as Zip Dry, Claudine Helmuth Multi-medium matte), dry adhesive (tape or tape runner/glider), glue stick, glue dots, foam dimensional adhesive (PopDots), detail scissors, paper cutter, black ink pen, pencil, ruler, brown and black inks for aging/distressing, wet wipes, corner rounder, eyelet setting tool (or Crop-A-Dile) for making holes, a bone folder for making creases, a piercing tool for making holes for brads, strings and other embellishments, an emery board or sand paper for distressing and anything else you find useful during a class! These items can be found in either the scrapbooking isle or art supply isle of your favorite craft store.
